Description: Having hard conversations with other adults is a daily experience for most leaders. Unfortunately, we rarely get to practice building our skills in this area until a problem arises in real time. This workshop is an opportunity to learn the art and science behind challenging conversations. Come ready with ideas for practice because you are going to get together with a partner and practice some of your meatiest challenges together! We’re going to actively build our hard conversations muscle so that we can be confident and compassionate, no matter the topic. 

Title: Effective Annual Retreats

Description: Annual leadership retreats are a hallmark of effective schools and nonprofit organizations. Retreats are a time to shift focus from operations to visionary strategy and connection. The results of a well-designed retreat include: stronger relationships, revived strategic plans, improved systems and operations, more effective committees or teams, and action toward the school’s goals. This session will help board members, administrators, and teacher leaders gain clarity on why their school needs an annual retreat and how to implement one that is both engaging and results-driven.

At the end of this session participants will understand the strategic value of annual leadership retreats and have a rough plan for implementing a results-driven retreat for their leadership team.
