Building Resilience             Infant/Toddler/Primary/Early Childhood/Elementary/Secondary/Admin

Please join Brenda Christiansen as we explore the impact of toxic stress and trauma through the groundbreaking lens of the Adverse Childhood Experiences Study. We will also spend time discussing how we can leverage our Montessori practice to help children build resilience. In addition, we will define strategies to continue our own spiritual preparation so that we can sustain our practice. "The real preparation for education is a study of ones self. The training of the teacher who is to help life is something far more than the learning of ideas. It includes the training of character, it is a preparation of the spirit." (Maria Montessori, The Absorbent Mind)

Brenda Christiansen holds an AMI elementary diploma and earned a masters degree in Montessori Integrative Learning.  She discovered Montessori education after a decade of teaching traditional school when looking at for preschool options for her son.  Brenda's Montessori journey has included assisting in toddler, primary and upper elementary communities in large childcare centers, private and public schools.  Brenda is currently a lower elementary teacher at Mountain Shadows Montessori School in Boulder.  She lives in Loveland with her family.
