Her Montessori journey began as an adolescent art instructor right here at Compass Montessori 9 years ago. Her desire to know more and more about this way of life and learning guided her in the direction of the Montessori elementary classroom. She soon decided to undertake the rigorous 6-12 elementary AMI teacher training in San Diego, California with Kay Baker in 2013. This experience combined with her application within the classroom was so rewarding, she went on to attain her Masters in Montessori Education at University of Hartford, CT in 2017. She also serves on the Family Star Board of Directors as a pedagogical representative. Ekaterina is committed to her role in the classroom as an "enlightened generalist” and melds her personal life and professional life with her hobbies and interests. She currently works at Great Work Montessori School in Lakewood, Colorado. She and her husband reside in Denver with their three sons, two of which recently graduated from Compass Montessori High School and a youngest son who attended through elementary, and is now enrolled at Denver School of the Arts.
