Title: Role of the Adult in the Montessori Prepared Environment

Description: What does the adult need in order to be a positive guide for the child during the development of the absorbent mind? Together, we will discuss this, the 3 stages for adult preparation, how to develop trust and the two psychological legs within yourself and your community, and how we can best follow Maria Montessori's Decalogue (10 Commandments) to foster healthy and positive development during the first 6 years of life.

Bio: Passionate about the child under three, with an emphasis on authentic Montessori, Nichole is a "toddler whisperer" of sorts. She has built an understanding, through nearly 16+ years of experience and observation, of the life and times of the youngest of children.

She studied at the Montessori Institute of Denver with Judi Orion, graduating in 2004 with her Assistants to Infancy (birth to three yo) AMI diploma. Up until May of 2016 Nichole served as a guide to toddlers and their parents at 4 different Denver-area schools. Currently she is running a consulting company and attending Red Rocks Community College to receive her director's qualifications, with the goal of opening a small school in Evergreen in the future.

Nichole is a hopeful enthusiast who believes when young children are respected and understood by the adults who surround them, they have the power to change the course of our world.
