Using Ritual Elements to Create Adolescent Rites of Passage Experiences                                                           Secondary

The careful, ritual footprints left by our ancestors have been engulfed by the traffic of modern civilization. Nowadays, traditional life passage ceremonies are not a part of the lives of most citizens. For many adolescents in our culture their so called rites of passage frequently involve destructive pursuits (smoking, sex, drugs, drinking).  Come learn about how to create a pan-cultural rite of passage experience that includes several weeks of reflective preparation culminating in some sort of nature-based solo experience supported by your Community. The solo experience is designed to help graduating students to better understand themselves and their place in the world, so that they are better able to overcome the challenges ahead, and to seize the new opportunities that await them.
